Adolescent Therapy

Adolescent therapy can provide crucial opportunities for learning conflict resolution during a delicate stage of life. Mindful of all the changes adolescents are experiencing in their minds, bodies,  cognitions, emotions and personality, I appreciate the importance of teens successfully managing this period of growth and learning. This is done by learning and practicing new skills, taking risks in new roles, receiving feedback constructively, and welcoming new opportunities. I help teens examine how they think about particular issues and how they can respond in ways which reflect their growing wisdom.

Typical reasons for adolescents to see a marriage and family therapist include: 

  • Anxiety (excessive worry, difficulty sleeping)

  • Depression (apathy, confusion, lacking motivation and self-esteem)

  • Dating (boundaries, sex education)
