A Life-Changing Opportunity

My work as a counseling psychologist challenged me personally, professionally, and spiritually as I sought to make sense of human suffering and the role I could play to alleviate it. Here I encountered individuals struggling with severe cases of mental illness, such as abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar symptoms, suicide, and serious relationship conflicts. I was able to see, hear and touch the individuals who were victims of abuse and who continue to bear the psychological consequences of injustice. In turn, they saw in me a caring

professional who strove to see the world through their eyes and bring a smile to their faces. I saw that I made a difference in the lives of these families and I grew to recognize a serious need for skilled mental health therapists to help those suffering from trauma. Consequently, I am a passionate advocate for the health and wellbeing of families.
